Gourmet Markets

Please enjoy this gourmet food and drink shopping guide!  The number code you see within each listing is based on Zagats....  1-30. To be specific, the Zagat's Code = Quality/Display/Service/Cost. Cost = I is Inexpensive; M is Moderate; E is Expensive.

Types of Stores ListedCheese Shops;  Bakeries;  Butchers;  Bagel Places;  Seafood/ Fish Markets;  Desserts;  Spices;  General Gourmet Markets;  Gourmet Supermarkets;  Fruits and Vegetables;  Health Food Stores and Pastry Stores and more!!! Please visit the Gourmet Markets by Genre page to see a listing of the stores listed by "type" - such as all the Bagel shops put together.

Stores arranged by neighborhood, but also LISTED GEOGRAPHICALLY within each neighborhood to greatest extent possible (tough to do for Village, Soho etc). For West Side, Soho, Village, TriBeca = North to South, then West to East arrangement. On the East Side..... South to North arrangement. This is great because you can Print Out a list of markets for a certain neighborhood and see which stores are Near the store you first chose to visit!!!

Please also note that most places listed have HYPERLINKS to the webpage of the stores.  If the store did not have a website, I linked up a review of the store from a trusted site like Yelp.com or Citysearch.com.  Some places did not have any reviews at all.

Please get back to me with any feedback concerning any specialty store you have encountered!  Please let me know what is missing or if anything is closed.

Thanks,

Ian Hunter
